Jennifer Meusel is of counsel to the firm. Jennifer’s practice focuses on estate planning, probate and estate administration, as well as transactional work including commercial and residential real estate sales and leasing, business formations and sales of businesses and business assets. Jennifer takes pride in her commitment to providing individualized and personal attention to her clients.
Jennifer aids people with the decisions required for developing estate plans, whether it is deciding on guardians for their children or what types of trusts to establish based on the size and configuration of their estates and their beneficiaries, whether they are seeking to control the distribution of assets or minimize estate and inheritance taxes. Jennifer has drafted wills and trusts for people whose main assets are their home and retirement accounts, and for those who need complex wills and trusts to minimize the significant tax liability which can and will occur without proper planning. Jennifer has experience in helping people who have been appointed as executors to navigate the probate system and to assist in the detail oriented administration of an estate, and to prepare and file the federal and New Jersey estate and inheritance tax returns and close the estate. Jennifer helps clients who have recently suffered the loss of a loved one to wade through the detailed and sometimes frustrating process of collecting assets, preparing estate and inheritance tax returns and distributing assets according to the terms of the decedent’s last will and testament. She assists and counsels the executors of estates in meeting their fiduciary obligations.
Jennifer’s expertise in transactional work includes the formation of businesses, including limited liability companies, c-corporations, s-corporations, and partnerships, sales of businesses, sale of business assets, sale and transfer of liquor licenses including the municipal and state applications and approvals process, the sale of commercial and residential real estate, and the leasing of commercial space. Jennifer’s negotiation skills from her years of litigating cases serve her well when negotiating these varied transactions.
Jennifer has represented hundreds of clients in the purchase or sale of their homes. She assists clients in understanding the unique situations arising during the period between contract and closing. She adeptly negotiates and navigates a client through home inspections to the more complex issues associated with oil take removals and environmental remediation.
Jennifer has extensive experience litigating cases including personal injury trials, workers’ compensation hearings, unemployment hearings, administrative law hearings, and probate and real estate litigation.
Jennifer is admitted to the bars of the states of New Jersey and New York. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Jennifer is also a member of her church council and provides legal guidance and assistance to her church.
